Heavy rain ending by daybreak Saturday, cold & windy day

TYLER, Texas (KETK) - The bands of moderate to heavy rainfall continue this morning across the area. Rain will be ending later this morning, but still mist and drizzle can persist on Saturday.

TRAVEL ALERT: There are multiple road closures in East Texas, click here to see those roads.

Our Severe Weather Alert Day continues through this morning. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for much of East Texas, continuing until 12 PM Saturday.

Heavy rain will be ending Saturday morning and pushing east. However, enough wrap-around moisture from the upper low will keep more showers in East Texas through late day Saturday. Air temperatures in our area WILL stay above freezing, so any winter weather will be confined to the Texas Panhandle and north of the Red River.

As of early Saturday morning, rain amounts have exceeded 4 to 5 inches in parts of Deep East Texas. Isolated higher amounts expected.

We want to emphasize that the main threat from this storm system will be flooding of some roads, creeks, rivers and other low lying and poor drainage areas. This can make driving difficult in some areas with some road closings possible.
