Brett Carr was back in East Texas Wednesday and returned to his old stomping grounds as he will once again be the head boys basketball coach of the Tatum Eagles. Running into old friends, colleagues, former and future players at Eagle Coliseum, Carr expressed his excitement for what he calls coming home.
Watch the video to see the story and to hear from Carr who takes back over a program he led to three State championship games in 12 seasons before departing for Katy Morton Ranch in 2014.
However, Carr left Morton Ranch after just two months to work in the oil business in South Texas and was out of coaching for the last two years.
Carr will have to replace nine graduating seniors from a team that was 27-9 this past season, and reached the Class 4A Regional quarterfinals.
