John Tyler reaches State 7-on-7 Semis, Lufkin comes up short


The John Tyler Lions made an impressive run in the Championship bracket of the State 7-on-7 High School Football tournament in College Station Saturday.  The Lions won three games in the single elimination phase of the event to reach the state semis following an epic 4-overtime 60-54 victory over Abilene in the quarterfinals.  The Lions eventually vowed out falling to Dickinson 39-20 in the semifinal round.

John Tyler went 6-1 in the two-day event.
