A Wood County Judge who was sentenced to a short stint behind bars for driving while intoxicated has been released from jail.
Judge Kenneth Bryan Jeanes was arrested on April 28 by an officer responding to a reckless driver call in Mineola.
Judicial records show the judge pleaded guilty to DWI with alcohol concentration 0.15 or more on August 17. He was sentenced to 10 days in the County Jail and ordered to pay more than $1,800 in fees.
Judge Kenneth Bryan Jeanes was released from the Wood County Jail on August 21 after serving two days confinement, according to online records.
The arrest affidavit stated a caller reported an SUV driving north in the southbound lanes on Highway 69. The officer later found the SUV stopped in the center turn lane.
When the officer asked the driver, Judge Jeanes, if he had too much to drink and drive, he reportedly said “No, but probably.” He then proceeded to fail a sobriety test, according to the affidavit.
