The student who was stabbed has been released from the hospital into her parents care.
The student accused in the stabbing has been arrested for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and taken to JDC.
An investigation is underway into the stabbing of a student on a Texarkana school bus.
The stabbing happened around 7:50 a.m., Thursday on Bus 601 at 22nd St. & Hazel in Texarkana, Texas.
According to TISD Spokesperson Tina Veal-Gooch three female students from Texas High School got into
a fight quickly after getting on the bus.
Veal-Gooch says it appears that the incident may have stemmed from Facebook posts from Wednesday
night and continued into the morning.
The victim was stabbed between 5 to 8 times and was immediately taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Health
The victim has been treated but she is waiting on a doctor to determine if she will need surgery.
The student accused in the stabbing was taken into custody by the Texarkana ISD Police Department.
At this time she is still being interviewed and all paperwork is being prepared to take her to the Bi-State Justice Center to go before a judge and the arrest to be made.
According to Veal-Gooch the final charge is unclear but it could possibly be Aggravated Assault.
Authorities have also confirmed that the weapon used was a standard pocket knife.
The third student was questioned and released.
All 25 students on the bus were removed and transported to the TISD Bus Department area and questioned
about the incident.
Texas High School Principal Brad Bailey contacted all parents of those students to have them sent home
for the day.

Two of the females allegedly stabbed another female several times with a pocket knife.
The victim was transported to St. Michael Hospital. Her condition is unknown
TISD Police arrested one student but there is no word on charges at this time.
According to Veal-Gooch investigators believe the stabbing may have been premeditated.
