Van Zandt County reports 15th case of COVID-19, will offer testing Saturday

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – Van Zandt County Judge Don Kirkpatrick has reported a new case of COVID-19, bringing the county’s total to 15.

The new case is located in the city of Van and is classified as community spread.

The patient is hospitalized.

The county will offer free mobile testing for residents Saturday.

All tests must be scheduled in advance and those seeking an appointment must be showing at least one symptom of the virus:

  • Fever and/or chills
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Body aches/muscle or joint pain
  • Nasal congestion
  • Nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
