GLADEWATER, Texas (KETK) — On Day Two of the NFL Draft, former Lufkin Panther, Erik McCoy was picked by the New Orleans Saints.
Well Saturday, his Texas A&M teammate and fellow East Texan, Daylon Mack, finally got the call to change his life.
The defensive tackle from Gladewater will be heading to Baltimore after the Ravens drafted him with the 160th overall pick in the 5th round.
Mack is a dominant combination of speed and size, and should be able to clog up the middle in the AFC North.
It’s emotional time for him and his family, after they finally saw his dream come true.
“It’s a big deal to me to represent my hometown, you know, nothing compared to playing in front of those guys and just to have the opportunity to represent them in the nfl, it just makes me very excited,” said Mack.
