Lowe’s plans to hire more than 65,000 associates this year in a plan to “improve customer service and product availability.”
The company announced the investments on Friday, planning to hire more than 50,000 seasonal positions to support its spring indoor and outdoor projects and 10,000 permanent associates for its Merchandising Service Team.
The new hires also include 6,000 full-time assistant store manager and department supervisor roles and more than 2,000 technology roles, including software engineers, data scientists and other digital positions.
“We are investing in key leadership positions across our stores to enhance customer service while also creating jobs that will improve the availability of our most popular products, transform our technology infrastructure and provide more access for customers to the home improvement expertise of our store associates,” said Lowe’s President and CEO Marvin Ellison.
