Two people were sentenced to prison in separate cases in Upshur County.
Ryan Hollinsworth, 20, of Gilmer pleaded guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child Monday in the 115th District Court in Gilmer.
The victim in the case was 12 at the time of offense, and the victim and family agreed to the plea agreement presented in court.
Hollinsworth was sentenced to 25 years in prison, with the notation by District Attorney Billy W. Byrd that he had previously completed a treatment program for youthful sexual offenders.
In a separate case, Lasandra Peoples, 40, of Gladewater pleaded guilty to the offense of Aggravated Robbery.
On December 6, 2017, Peoples entered the home of an elderly woman in Gladewater. Displaying a knife, Peoples stole money and jewelry from the victim before forcing her into a bathroom and throwing away her landline telephone.
The victim, 75 at the time of the offense, was able to secure her cellular phone and crawl through the bathroom window to safety before calling 911.
Peoples was sentenced to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Due to the nature of their crimes, Hollinsworth and Collins must serve at least half their sentences before they are eligible for parole.
