Mineola ISD students are in need of car donations for their autotech program so they can continue to have a unique learning experience.
Every week, the students meet in their auto classroom and work on vehicle parts and find it to be very beneficial.
“Having a good hands-on experience in class means whenever we get out in the real world, we’ll automatically be ahead of the game,” Chance Jones, Mineola ISD senior.
The goal is to repair cars as a class and then sell the fixed vehicle to someone in the community who needs it.
As this year finishes up, they’re looking for car donations over the summer months to prepare for the next school year.
Their teacher says they’re in need of vehicles made in 1997 or later that are repairable.
“If they have an old car and there’s a lot wrong with it, the more that’s wrong with it, the more we learn potentially,” Tanner Taylor, Mineola ISD senior.
If you are looking to donate, you can call Mineola High School for further information.
