Bees delay play in Giants-Reds baseball game

There was a short delay before the Giants-Reds baseball game in Cincinnati this afternoon.

A swarm of bees moved into the area around home plate and the dugouts, bringing the game to a stop as players and fans tried to avoid antagonizing the insects and getting stung.

The buzzy bugs held up play for less than a half an hour, then they moved away and play was started.

Cincinnati’s Derek Dietrich wasn’t playing today, so he dressed up as a beekeeper with a sprayer and tried to save the game.

Later in the game two fans tried to get the bees into a box after they were piled up on a chair in the stands.
