The American Red Cross has deployed volunteers to San Augustine after a tornado ripped through the town Wednesday night.
The team took off at about 4 am on Thursday morning. Jackie Drake of the American Red Cross said that the team was slowed down by debris and down powerlines in the roadway.
The “second-responders” have been out feeding emergency personnel all morning long. Once the damage has been assessed the team will work with first-responders to help assist the situation.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far. The power is out for all of the city, with no restoration time noted yet.
