Henderson County authorities arrested two people Wednesday morning, one on drug charges and the other on an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.
Keri Dawnel Morris, 46, of Eustance and Justin Wayne Seymour, 36, of Kemp were arrested during traffic stop in Gun Barrel City.
According to Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse, narcotics investigators were working drug interdiction in the Gun Barrel City area late Tuesday night-early Wednesday morning when they stopped Morris’ vehicle.
A K-9 unit was called to help in the search of the vehicle, and the dog, Deputy Kan, alerted officers to the presence of narcotics.
The subsequent search yielded a substance suspected to be meth along with items consistent with the sale and delivery of the drug.
Morris was charged with possession and manufacturing and delivery of the meth.
Seymour, a passenger in the vehicle, was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Kaufman County for failing to register as a sex offender.
Both were taken to the Henderson County Jail.
“The critical components of our drug crackdown and outstanding-warrant search are working exactly as we planned,” Hillhouse said.
