Suspect identified in February Kilgore shooting

The Kilgore Police Department has identified a suspect in connection with a February shooting in Kilgore.
 
Demetrius Dirail Alex, 30, of Longview, has been identified and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct.

The charges stemmed from a shooting that occurred on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Stone Creek Apartments in Kilgore. A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is currently being sought by police.
 
All persons involved in this incident have been identified and additional criminal charges are pending. The person who suffered multiple gunshot wounds is still hospitalized in Longview. He is listed in critical, but stable condition.
His name is not being released at this time.

The Kilgore Police Department Criminal Investigative Unit is actively investigating this case.
