A man was fired from a San Antonio nursing home after a police say he hit a 96-year old woman in his care.
According to an affidavit, 35-year-old Raymond Pintor admitted to hitting the woman and waited until the end of his shift to tell the head nurse.
Pintor told investigators the woman was in his care at Saint Francis Nursing Home. Early Monday morning, the woman tried to get out of her bed when Pintor allegedly pinned her down. Pintor said it was because the woman was kicking and scratching. He then allegedly slapped her three times.
When an officer spoke to the victim, he noted she had trouble describing what happened due to her dementia. He did say he saw bruising and redness on her forearms and her face.
Pintor was immediately fired and has been banned from the property. The manager said they are working with police and have notified the state government.
The victim’s family was also notified of the incident.
