A former Zavalla ISD coach has turned himself in after a second warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of improper relationship between educator/student.

According to the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office, at 8:45 a.m., Richard Warren Cratty, Jr., 31, gave himself up at the Sheriff’s Office. He faces an additional charge of improper relationship between educator/student, a second-degree felony. He is currently in the Angelina County Jail awaiting bond.

The Angelina County Sheriff’s Office investigation into Cratty’s activities is continuing. Anyone with information related to these investigations is encouraged to contact Det. McNeely at the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office.

He was previously charged with solicitation of a minor. Officials said there are two different victims.

According to court documents, the teacher fondled a 17-year-old girl in his classroom on an unspecified day.

Authorities also obtained documentation from other schools where similar allegations were made. Criminal charges were brought against him, court documents show, however, the suspect had lied about his background history, and Cratty stated he had never been charged with a criminal offense.
