UPDATE: Suspect in fatal pedestrian accident in Tyler turns himself in

TYLER, Texas (KETK) - Tyler police have announced that the suspect in a fatal pedestrian accident in Tyler has turned himself in.

Josue Alejandro Prado Ramirez, 21, of Athens turned himself in to the Henderson County Jail Monday evening at 7:30 p.m., according to Don Martin, public information officer for the TPD.

Ramirez was wanted on a Tyler Police Department warrant for Accident Involving Death of 11 year-old Damarion Williams.

Tyler Investigators were notified today that the victim’s mother called Smith County Sheriff’s Office to report her son missing at around 3 p.m.  Investigators determined that this was the same person as an unidentified victim in a fatality case.  The victim is identified as Damarion Williams, B/M, age 11 of Smith County.

Investigators received information that led to them contacting a witness to the collision.

The information led investigators to Athens, where they located the suspect vehicle.  Further investigation led to probable cause to secure an arrest warrant for Ramirez.

He was charged with Accident Involving Death, a 2nd degree felony, and a warrant was issued by Judge Jack Skeen with bond set at $250,000.  Authorities are currently working on locating Ramirez to place him under arrest.
