Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service hosted an education course Wednesday evening for livestock producers.
It happened on the East Texas State Fair grounds near Harvey Hall in Tyler. Meat specialist and Texas A&M Professor Dan Hale spoke to Smith County producers about beef quality.
People who attended sampled different grades of steak and ranked them based on taste and quality.
“Cattle producers are actually in the business of producing beef, and a lot of them really don’t see a whole lot about of what happens after they leave the farm,” Hale said.
