SWAT finds array of drugs during Palestine raid

The Palestine Police Department announced Thursday the arrest of man who was allegedly found with an assortment of drugs.

At around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, SWAT members raided a home in the 1500 block of  Eilenstein St. The warrant was delivered in regard to an ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal drugs from this location.

During a search of the home, officers found 50 grams of cocaine, 29 grams of phencyclidine (PCP), 43 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy), 900 grams of codeine, 4 grams of methamphetamine, 1.5 grams of Alprazolam (Xanax) and over two pounds of marijuana. Officers also discovered a stolen firearm at the scene.

The man was arrested for multiple charges relating to the drugs and stolen firearm. The name of the man is being withheld until he is arraigned.

“Every officer involved in this operation did an outstanding job and a great service to the community”, said Lt. John Herod. “Due to the diligent efforts of Det. Kaylyn Griffin, members of the Palestine Police Dept. SWAT team and other officers who participated, we were able to take a substantial amount of illegal narcotics off of the street.”
