Reports this morning of several cars being spray-painted are the latest in a spate of vandalism incidents throughout Longview.

According to our newspaper partner Longview News-Journal, police on Tuesday said four or five reports had been taken of cars being spray-painted with graffiti on Cheryl Street.

One of those cars belongs to Jodie Lepley, who said she walked outside Tuesday morning to find someone or some people had used pink spray paint to deface her car and a neighbor’s car with, among other things, images of a smiley face and male genitalia.

The vandal or vandals had also spray-painted her wheels pink and green.

Police also said several reports of car windows being shot out with a BB gun had been taken recently throughout the city.

Lepley says she does not understand why a person would destroy someone else’s property like that.

“I’m feeling sick about it,” Lepley said. “I’m mad, but I’m more sick about it.”
