A Texas school district has added a sign warning that it’s staff may be armed and ready to use force.
Medina ISD has 303 students and a few faculty members who may be carrying firearms.
Superintendent and one of the district board members said there wasn’t any specific event that prompted discussion about the sign a year ago.
The hope is the sign will deter not just school shootings, but any sort of violence.
The sign only states the staff “may” be armed.
The superintendent said the school can not divulge anything about their safety plan because it would compromise the plan.
