A Lufkin man claiming to be of a higher power was recently locked up after trespassing and resisting arrest.

According to police records, Darion A. Amie, 22, was taken into custody Tueasday at around noon after he allegedly was trespassing at a home in the 500 block of North First Street.  During the arrest, police said Amie resisted arrest and told officers several times he was “Jesus” and they would have to let him go.

After a struggle with police, he was finally taken under control and placed in a patrol car. While en route to jail, officers reported the suspect was babbling about several different topics: his hate for the officers, his wealth, the beauty of his girlfriend, and once again, how he was Jesus.

Police also reported Amie declaring his birthday out loud several times. The suspect claimed his birthday numbers would add up to prove he was in fact Jesus.

Authorities also reported Amie making threats toward officers.

Amie was booked into the jail and is being held on bonds totaling $3,000.
