Parents find silver lining despite Halloween storms

TYLER, Tx (KETK) - You might be wondering if the downpour in East Texas slowed down the holiday fun. The answer looks to be a resounding no.

The Spirit Halloween Store on Loop 323 in Tyler was busy with folks all day, making their way through the racks and making purchase after purchase. Many telling us they still had plans that they would not let the rain get in the way of.

"There's supposed to be something going on at Lago, but because of the weather, I think they're going to cancel it," said Alejandro Lafaro, a Tyler resident. "So other than that were probably going to go out to a house party or something because its going to be indoors. I wanted to go trick or treating with some friends...there's no age limit on trick or treating. Yea, I wanted to do that, but we'll see if the weather allows it."

We asked one Tyler father if he was concerned about the bad weather?

"A little bit, but we're still going to get out there and do our trick or treating," Braxton Wilson said.

Green Acres and Shiloh Road Church of Christ are two locations that we were told would be having indoor events until at least 8:00 pm Halloween night.
