This weekend Longview hosts the 4th annual Ink Life Tour Tattoo and Music Festival gathering together over 200 tattoo artists.
The fourth annual festival continues today at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center from noon to 9:15 p.m.
The festival is a way for tattoo artists to network, collaborate their creative juices, and build up a larger clientele base.
Today is “Free Tattoo Sunday”. Several tattoo competitions take place. Convention goers can sign up to be a human canvas for an artist.
The people chosen to be a human canvas in the competitions get a free tattoo. The artists design the tattoo’s and work about 2 1/2 to complete it on an individual.
The owner of Rikki Bailey’s Art Studio in Longview said, the weekend’s competitions draws out the best in everyone’s work.
So far the Ink Life Tour has drawn over 6,000 people all interested in tattoos.
Along with a large number of featured artists, festival goers can enjoy human suspensions, sideshows and representatives from Texas Star Rescue.
