One person killed in 3-vehicle crash on Highway 7

One person has died as a result of a three-car fatal crash near the Nacogdoches-Shelby County line.
 
According to the Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. and was on Highway 7, close to the county line. 
 
According to the crash investigation, a Ford pickup was going west on Highway 7 when it crossed the center divider and hit a Chevrolet delivery van in the side. 
 
The driver of the van then swerved to the right and hit a passenger car. The van and car then both went to the ditch. The Ford pickup drove off the highway into the ditch where it caught fire and burned.
 
The driver of the Ford pickup was identified as 51-year-old Steven Dennis from Center, TX. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 
 
The driver of the van was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the car was not injured. 
 
All lanes of Highway 7 are closed at this time. Officials say the road will be closed two to three hours.
