Officials seeking driver in Harrison County hit-and-run that killed man on dirt bike

HARRISON COUNTY, Texas (KETK) - Law enforcement is seeking an individual who was involved in an East Texas crash that killed one person.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Sunday, around 8:30 p.m., troopers responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Farm-to-Market Road 9 in Harrison County, about 12 miles north of Waskom.

The preliminary crash report reveals the driver of Ford Crown Victoria was traveling northbound on FM 9 when it struck a dirt bike, heading north on the same roadway,

The rider, identified as Nolan Leo Majeski, 32, of Winthrop, Minnesota, was thrown from the dirt bike.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Megan Pinson. 

The driver of car left the scene of the crash. The suspect vehicle was later found abandoned.

DPS is currently working active leads on the identification of the driver 

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
