A federal overtime pay rule imposed by Barack Obama won’t take effect Dec. 1 after a Texas judge issued an injunction, reports The Associated Press.

The rule would have made overtime available to workers making $47,476 a year, The AP reported. That would represent a more than doubling of the threshold which employers pay their workers, the AP story said.

Opponents of the regulation argued that businesses and local governments would be overburdened by the new overtime laws.
