A Nacogdoches home builder is back in jail after being arrested at his residence by Nacogdoches Police yesterday afternoon on a theft warrant obtained by NCSO investigators.

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office is working several ongoing investigations on Epps for stealing money from home owners.

Epps was originally arrested on 11-02-1016 by NCSO investigators for the offense of Theft. Epps was booked into the county jail, but would bond out of jail on 11-03-2016.

NCSO investigators obtained another warrant on Epps on Friday, 11-04-2016, but law enforcement was unable to locate Epps until yesterday afternoon.

During this investigation, it was revealed that Epps had stolen twenty thousand dollars from a home owner that Epps was supposed to be using to build their home with.

Epps has admitted that he used the money for personal reasons and did not have the money to pay the homeowner back.

Richard Epps was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on state jail felony theft Charges. Bond was set at 100,000.00 dollars.

A parole warrant was also issued for Richard Epps that was served on him at the Nacogdoches County Jail. Epps is on parole until 2029.

The Sheriff’s Office is still working investigations and taking reports daily on Richard Epps and his construction business.

Other law enforcement agencies in the East Texas area as well have also taken in recent complaints on Richards Epps.

Sheriff Bridges stated that we know that Epps was also conducting business in other States as well, so we just don’t know how far this may go, or the total value amount that we may end up with.

The Sheriff’s Office has requested the Texas Rangers to assist with the investigation.
