Artists from across East Texas showed off their talents Saturday night at Gallery Main Street.
Artists competed to impress judges who decided which pieces would be displayed.
The only guideline was the theme of “Bits and Pieces” leaving artists to decide what that theme meant to them.
One notable piece was a rendition of the Mona Lisa made entirely out of plastic blocks.
The director of Tyler Main Street spoke about why it is so important to support local artists.
“The arts create business, adaptive re-use for buildings that have been empty and also jobs,” Beverly Abell, director of Tyler Main Street Department, said. “So we really encourage people, if they appreciate having arts in the community to patronize the arts.
Main Street Gallery is located at 110 W. Erwin Street and is open to the public six days a week.
