Houston Texans place J.J. Watt on IR, sign DE Antonio Smith

The Houston Texans have officially placed defensive end J.J. Watt on the Injured Reserve list.
Watt is dealing with a recurring back injury and is expected to be out an extended period of time, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Texans have signed free agent DE Antonio Smith to the active roster to replace the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
