The Fraternal Order of Police opened a bank account for East Texas officers going through tough times.
The East Texas FOP raised cash through their “Back the Blue” concert. The organization deposited $4,000 with Southside Bank chipping in an additional $1,000.
The money will assist officers suffering from injuries or other health related issues. Members said it’s important to stand by the men and women in blue.
“If we see a need with one of our officers, he goes down, and he’s not making 100 percent of his check. He jumped in and made a difference when it counted, so we are going to jump in and make a difference when he needs us,” Chuck Boyce, a member of the Order said.
Those wishing to help can donate on the FOP’s website.
