FATAL CRASH: Man dies after piece of equipment swings off 18-wheeler near Huntington

A man is dead after a piece of unsecured equipment strikes his truck on FM 1669, five miles north of Huntington in Angelina County. 

He has been identified as Jeremy Johnson, 38, of Mineral Wells. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the preliminary investigation reveals it happened around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday. An 18-wheeler, transporting oil field equipment, was traveling north when a piece of unsecured equipment swung over into the other lane striking a truck. 

The driver of the 18-wheeler has been identified as Jonathan Keller, 41, from Keller. He was not injured during the crash. The driver of the pick-up truck was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation.
