Local News

Candy Crocker School of Dance is celebrating 40 years in Tyler. The dance studio teaches beginners or aspiring professionals. More than 5 different styles of dance are taught at the studio including ballet and jazz.

Owner Candy Crocker began her dance career at the age of two in Woodbridge, England. A graduate of Tyler Junior College, she later served on the dance faculty for 25 years and choreographed musicals.

The studio located on County Road 2331 just off Highway 110, has produced dancers that later went on to perform on Broadway in New York and open their own studios.

Since opening the dance school has become a tradition for East Texas families.

“A lot of second generations, where the mothers dance and the daughters dance and it’s a good feeling to think that people would trust me that much to bring their kids around for that long,” Crocker, said.

Students have also been recognized in national dance competitions, and have received dance scholarships.

Registration for Candy Crocker School of Dance is now open for the upcoming season. To find out more information click here.
