DPS identifies victims in fatal Henderson County motorcycle crash

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KETK) - DPS has identified an East Texas woman killed in a fatal motorcycle crash in Henderson County.

Patricia Hall Knapp, 73, of Chandler died from injuries suffered August 4.

The preliminary crash report indicates that Knapp, the driver of a 1994 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was traveling north on FM 315, just south of Coffee City, when she rounded a curve at an unsafe.

Her motorcycle left the roadway to the west, continued through the grass shoulder and struck an incline for a culvert at Waterwood Drive.

Knapp and her passenger, James Lee Kratzer, 48, of Chandler, were both thrown from the motorcycle.

Neither was wearing a helmet.

Knapp was taken to a Tyler hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Kratzer was also taken to a Tyler hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
