Baylor University football player Ishmael Zamora will be disciplined by the team after a video surfaced showing the wide receiver viciously beating his dog.

After an investigation into the abuse  that lasted a little over a month, the case was closed, and Zamora received a Class C misdemeanor and a fine.

Zamora posted the video of him beating his dog on another Baylor University players snap chat story.

A former Baylor student went to animal control and the Baylor police department about 2 hours after seeing the video.

In a statement to KXXV, Zamora said he lost his temper and that he’s since gone through dog training to learn new ways to potty train the dog.

Interim Baylor head coach said they weren’t going to tolerate the behavior and that Zamora is going to be disciplined “by a bunch of people,” including the athletic department.

KXXV says the dog is reportedly no longer living with Zamora and is in the care of his family.
