Clearing the shelters in Lufkin

Local News
NBC’s Clear the Shelters program is this Saturday. Locally, we’re hoping to get as many animals adopted as possible.
To help make this possible East Texas animal shelters are offering deals, too good to pass up!
On Saturday, pet adoptions at the Lufkin Animal Shelter will be free!
This is also the same day as Lufkin’s Night Howels day, which has the same goal.
Around 20,000 pets were adopted nationwide last year, on this day. KETK news spoke with the Lufkin Animal Shelter to see what we can expect this weekend.
“We’re offering adoptions for zero cost to the public,” said Aaron Ramsey, Lufkin Animal Services Director. “That means all the shots will be taken care of, the spay and neuter and a free wellness checkup at the vet can all be for no cost to the public. Just for that one day.”
The Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter is located on Hill Street in Lufkin and adoptions start at 10, Saturday morning.
