Church makes prayer cloths for police officers

Local News
A police officer in Timpson, northeast of Nacogdoches, has turned to his church in light of the police officers being murdered in Baton Rouge.

Officer Jacob Metcalf requested prayer cloths for all officers to have.

Prayer cloths are anointed with oil and prayed over, for people to keep for divine protection.

After acquiring them from his church, Officer Metcalf passed them out himself. He gave them not only to Timpson PD, but to the Shelby County Sheriffs Office and a few DPS officers as well.

“We handed out a few, we’d like to hand out a lot more and we’ll do that,” said Dathan Triplett, pastor at Revival Tabernacle. “We pray over them and hand them out to the other officers. We believe in what they do and we’re grateful for what they do and we believe god can keep his and of protection on them.”

The cloths came from Center Christian Academy in Center, and they say they would be thrilled to keep making these cloths.
