Children from family service groups treated to special day at movies

Local News

Children from family service groups across East Texas were treated to a special day at Studio Movie Grill in Tyler on Wednesday.

Terry Cox, owner of TLC Fundraising Printing, organized the event  with the help of other groups including Gameday Sports Tours and Night of Superstars.

“We reached out to those organizations and said hey do you have a few kiddos that you’d like to bring,” Cox said. They were gracious enough help us find some kids that needed to do that.”

Marines attend the event along with Jammin’ Jimmy Olson, who recently collected more than 1,800 pounds of toys for children.

“This is for the kids at no fault of their own, this is for them,” Olson said.

Children received a special showing of “Star Wars: Rogue One” and were given a gift.

“I wish everyone would team up and do some good for the community,” Olson said. When we team up it takes a community takes a village.”

“We accumulate a wealth of difference experience and different memorabilia, collectibles just give kiddos that they don’t have,” Cox said.
