The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department needs your help tracking down three burglars.
The Sheriff’s department tells us that early Wednesday morning the trio broke into on business and attempted to get into a second in Cherokee County.
The first break in was at the Subway in Alto around 2:00 a.m. where the burglars broke the front door glass with a sledge hammer and then went inside and stole about $200 from the cash drawer.
The store’s alarm was not set, so an hour later they came back and took another $300 from a safe.
During the hour the crooks were gone from Alto, they drove to Wells and tried to break into Polk’s Pick-It-Up convenience store.
Surveillance video shows them attempting to break the front door glass with the sledge hammer and kicking the glass. That alarm did go off, and the Sheriff’s Office was notified.
Because the crooks were wearing masks, officers are having a hard time identifying them. The Sheriff’s department says the car they were in looked like a blue four door Honda or Toyota.
Anyone that may have information on these suspects is asked to call the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office directly (903-683-2271) or the Cherokee County Crimestoppers Hotline (903-586-7867) with the information.
