Cherokee County Airport issues warning about laser pointers after pilot complaint

The Cherokee County Airport received a complaint from a local pilot saying that someone was shining a laser pointer at his aircraft while landing.

The airport warned residents on Facebook that shining a laser pointer at an aircraft is not only a serious safety hazard but also a violation of federal law. 

The law states that someone can be fined up to $250,000 and/or imprisoned up to five years in prison.
