Cain Elementary was named a ‘Blue Ribbon School’ by the U.S. Department of Education Secretary, John B. King Jr.
The selection process is based on exemplary high performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. Every school chosen has an economically disadvantaged population of 25 percent or greater.
“We can really make a difference with what we do here and at Cain Elementary we’re committed that every student leaves on or about level on reading, writing, and math,” Principal Sandi Jones said.
Students and teachers wore blue to celebrate the honor along with the the school being decorated .
