The community is invited to attend a balloon release Monday in remembrance of 10-year-old Kayla Gomez.
The event will take place at 4:20 p.m. on the Robert E. Lee football field.
In both cafeterias during lunch, tables have been set up for students to write a letter sending their condolences to Kayla’s family.
Grief counselors will be available at the school Kayla attended, Jack Elementary, according to Tyler ISD.
Kayla’s body was found in a well on Saturday night off Jacksonville Highway in Tyler. She first disappeared Tuesday evening from Bullard First Assembly Church during a prayer service.
The suspect has been identified by law enforcement as Gustavo Zavala, 24, of Bullard. No formal charges have been brought against him at this time.
