Thursday an Anderson County Jury found Jimmy Davis Jr., 47, guilty of Aggravated Assault causing Serious Bodily Injury and Kidnapping.

The jury heard evidence that on June 23, 2013, the victim in the case stayed with Davis Jr. and other women at a trailer house in Anderson County.

During her stay, Davis Jr. locked her in a bedroom refusing to free her.  While she was locked in the bedroom, he repeatedly and beat the victim.

The witness told the jury that she saw Davis Jr. standing over the victim and that afterwards she saw that the victim was severely beaten.

The victim escaped Davis Jr. and was taken to PRMC and doctors determined she had a broken jaw, severe bruising about her face and body and was ultimately transported to a hospital in Tyler for reconstructive surgery.

Anderson County Investigators said Jimmy Davis Jr. was the suspect and has been charged.

After finding Davis Jr. guilty on both counts the jury then heard punishment evidence.  The jury heard evidence of Davis Jr.’s criminal career that began in 1989 with a Robbery conviction and includes several convictions for drug charges, an aggravated sexual assault of a child conviction, and a sexual assault conviction.

Due to Davis Jr.’s priors, the range of punishment in each current charge was 25 years TDCJ to 99 years TDCJ or Life.  In each count the jury assessed his punishment at Life in prison.
