With the closing of ITT Technical Institute on September 6, many veteran students using GI Bill funds have been affected.
The American Legion, who is responsible for writing the GI Bill in 1944, want to do there part and help out.
The school’s closing has affected over 6,000 veterans across the nation and the American Legion offers services at no charge to veterans
“If you spent one day active duty in the military you’re a veteran,” said Michelle Scuito, American Legion Post 113 Commander. “And as a veteran community when you’re in the military that person next to you it doesn’t matter who they are that’s your brother that’s your sister we’re all comrades.”
If you are among those affected you can find a list of American Legion service officers on their website: http://www.legion.org/serviceofficers
They will be able to answer any questions and offer any assistance.
