East Texas native Adrian Peterson will undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee he suffered during the Minnesota Vikings’ Sunday night victory over the Green Bay Packers.

Head Coach Mike Zimmer made the announcement concerning Peterson during his Wednesday afteroon press conference. He will go under the knife on Thursday.

Knee issues are not new for the former Palestine Wildcat. He tore his ACL and MCL against the Washington Redskins on December 26, 2011.

Team officials have not said how much time Peterson will miss.
