On Monday, a 70-year-old Kansas man pleaded guilty to robbing a bank in 2016.
But, that’s not what got people talking.
Lawrence Ripple robbed a bank of nearly $3,000 in Kansas City in September 2016. However, he didn’t leave the scene of the crime, KansasCity.com reports.
When police arrived, they found Ripple in the lobby.
Ripple then told investigators he had gotten into an argument with his wife and he “no longer wanted to be in that situation.”
Authorities say Ripple had written a robbery note, while in the presence of his wife, saying he’d rather be in jail, according to KansasCity.com.
Ripple is facing 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
