HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KETK) - Two East Texas men are in jail on drug charges after two separate drug raids in Henderson County.
Henderson County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Matthew Walker, 34, of Gun Barrel City Thursday at a residence on Wilson Way.
Walker was charged with possession of methamphetamines and tampering with physical evidence.
According to the arrest report by Captain Damon Boswell, Walker attempted to discard some of the drugs by flushing then down a toilet as deputies approached. Narcotics investigators were executing a probable cause search warrant issued by 392nd District Judge Scott McKee.
He in the Henderson County Jail on bonds totaling $45,000.
In a separate drug raid that same day, Jerry Cannon, Jr., 47, also of Gun Barrel City, was arrested at a residence in the Bonita Point Subdivision just east of the town. Investigators executing a search warrant reportedly found Cannon in possession of illegal drugs.
Cannon was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
