Two men are dead and several others injured in the wake of a shooting in north Shreveport Thursday morning.
Authorities have identified 37-year-old Elton Wayne Madison and 37-year-old Leatrick Benjamin as the two victims killed in the shooting.
Other shooting victims included: Henry Sherman 44 and Randy Brown, 36, both of whom were last listed in serious condition; Tyrone Coley, 37, Joey Caldwell 29, Robert Baulkman 30, and Richard Baker, 29, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from area hospitals; and two men, identified as 29-year old Kenneth Jones and 28- year-old Jeremy Madison, suffered only minor cuts and scrapes.
Just after 1 a.m. today, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the 300 block of North Thomas Drive relative to a shooting at a local tire shop.
As officers arrived on the scene, they learned multiple victims were injured; many of whom were suffering gunshot wounds.
In all, a total of 10 people suffered injuries, including the two who died. Victims of the incident were transported by ambulance and private automobile to area hospitals where they were treated for injuries.
SPD detectives arrived on scene and immediately began their probe into the crime. Preliminary reports suggest a group of men were inside the business after it closed and were engaged in a card game when a group of three to four subjects entered the business wearing coverings over their faces.
According to information gathered on scene, the suspects, armed with what appeared to be semi-automatic rifles, entered the building and began firing on occupants inside.
Currently, no suspects have been charged in the shooting; however, detectives aggressively are pursuing leads and gathering as much information and evidence as possible in this matter.
