2 dead, 1 injured following 2-vehicle crash in Houston County

HOUSTON COUNTY, Texas (KETK) - Two people are dead after a crash in Houston County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, officials responded to a two-vehicle crash around 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, on State Highway 19, just south of Crockett.

The preliminary crash report indicates a Nissan SUV was traveling south on SH 19.

For unknown reasons the Nissan drove off the roadway, to the right, overcorrected back to the left and drove into the northbound lane where it was struck by a Ford SUV.

The driver of the Ford wass identified as Barbara Stewart, 53, of Crockett. She was taken to a Tyler hospital via helicopter for treatment.

The driver of the Nissan was ejected during the crash and identified as Anna Gonzales, 25, of Arkansas.

A passenger with Gonzales was identified as Bradley Hartranft, 26, also of Arkansas.

Gonzales and Hartranft were both pronounced dead at the scene by a Houston County Justice of the Peace.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
