Kilgore Police put into action ‘Operation Snow Cone’

The Kilgore Police Department is participating in “Operation Snow Cone.” They are giving out free snow cones! But only for children caught doing good deeds in the community. The Kilgore Police Department teamed up with Charlie’s Snoball & Seasonal Tanning to create this summer program.
Police said they wanted to reward youths for good behavior during the summer months. They think it’s a great way for officers to develop relationships with young people. Police hope it will also influence children in Kilgore to make better choices.
Assistant Chief for the Kilgore Police Department, Roman Roberson said, “We want to compliment good behavior versus bad behavior. We see a lot of bad behavior most of the time and this is kind of a way for us to encourage good behavior with kids in the community over the summer.”
Children are awarded with a snow cone coupon to Charlie’s Snoball & Seasonal Tanning in Kilgore. The coupon is good for one free snow cone, flavor of your choice.
